Review: Finca Rosa Blanca, is located
in the highest part of Santa Bárbara de Heredia. This hotel
was built originally as a private residence, but later the family
decided to make it into a small hotel. They have been operating
for 13 years as a quaint and very romantic hotel. The staff
is very friendly and make you feel like one of the family.
All of the rooms are surrounded by an incredible garden. They
also have a second garden where they plant the majority of the vegetables
and fruits that they serve in their menu. In all of the rooms you
will find candles, fresh flowers and an incredible view of the Costa
Rican Central Valley area. The hotel is decorated with a mixture
of abstract art, wall paintings and local, Costa Rican art.
"Imagine if Gaudí and
Frank Lloyd Wright had combined their talents and visions. The result
would be an architectural stunner as eclectic and electrifying as
Finca Rosa Blanca. This is one of Costa Rica’s -- nay, the world’s
preeminent boutique hotels, opened in 1989. Inspired by Gaudí’s
architectonics and the Santa Fe style, the hotel is conceived as
if from a fairy tale. Qué linda!" -- Christopher P. Baker, Costa
Rica Handbook
“Crowning a scenic
high-country knoll a half-hour north of San José near Santa Bárbara
de Heredia, this fanciful cloister commands a mountain-backed tableau
of undulating green fields, orchards and coffee plantations. Here,
artistic owner-hosts Glenn and Teri Jampol make you feel like a
special guest in a winsome private home.” -- Andrew Harper’s
